IM Live Sessions
With generous funding from the Harvard Culture Lab Innovation Fund and in partnership with the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, HGSE’s Instructional Moves (IM) Project offered three IM Live Sessions in February, 2023. These 90-minute sessions highlight teaching practices that foster equity and inclusion, modeled by professors from across Harvard's campus.
LANGUAGE USED FOR RECRUITMENT
Each session will feature an instructor from a different school at Harvard, teaching a 40-minute demo lesson that highlights keyone key themes from IM’s new module Educating for Equity and Inclusion. After the lesson, a faculty discussant will lead a conversation to help us unpack the teaching practices that we all just experienced. Following the discussion, there will be a catered reception where the discussions can continue.
While these live events work together to showcase a variety of complimentary equitable and inclusive teaching practices, they also can function as standalone events. Whether you can attend just one session or all three, we hope you’ll join us there! (These session are also part of a larger cohort experience – click here for more details.)
IM Live will be held in the Gutman Conference Center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education on three consecutive Tuesdays in February, with the teaching demos and debrief discussions taking place from 3-4:30 pm and the reception beginning at 4:30 pm. We are accepting RSVPs for a given event until we reach capacity, and for planning purposes, you must RSVP to attend.
These events will be filmed, with the videos of the session eventually being added as resources to the IM website. Please understand that by attending the event you are agreeing to be filmed.
