Eight-Session Cohorts

With generous funding from the Harvard Culture Lab Innovation Fund and in partnership with the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, HGSE’s Instructional Moves (IM) Project is offering two professional learning cohorts  grounded in our new IM module focused on Educating for Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education. These cohorts are designed to help you incorporate research-based practices in equitable and inclusive teaching by observing, reflecting upon, and discussing high-quality Harvard teaching.

Here are some details that can help you decide if this offering is a good fit for you:

  • One cohort will be for Harvard faculty and instructional staff (i.e., a major part of your work is focused on supporting harvard instruction).

  • The other cohort  will be for Harvard doctoral students interested in higher education pedagogy. With a few supplementary assignments, GSAS Ph.D. students can count the student PLC as a Bok Seminar equivalent towards a Bok Teaching Certificate.

  • Each cohort will meet for eight sessions. Five of the sessions (75 minutes each) will take place online and will be taken just with members of their cohort. The other three sessions (90 minutes each) will be in-person “IM Live” teaching demonstrations and debriefs that will include both cohorts and any other interested Harvard community members.

  • Registration for the cohorts will be open until 5 pm ET on Wednesday, Feb. 1st.
