## Jane Mansbridge

**Charles F. Adams Professor of Political Leadership and Democratic Value**
**Harvard Kennedy School**

Jane Mansbridge served as President of the American Political Science Association from 2012 to 2013. In this video, Jane and her students discuss her compelling approach to teaching *Democratic Theory*, a survey of philosophical writings on democracy through the ages. Committed to making material relevant and immediate to her students’ diverse political contexts and aspirations, Mansbridge brings would-be esoteric texts to life through inclusive and rigorous discussions while equipping students to think critically about democracy.
